Art Therapy Session: Emotion Lantern
The American Art Therapy Association defines Art therapy as an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.
We will be creating emotion lanterns. Lanterns can be used for
giving signals to others. The colors and design we choose will
be a message to others letting them know the mood we are sharing.
Materials needed:
1) Colored tissue paper (multi colors)
2) Scissors
3) Markers
4) Liquid Glue or Modge Podge
5) Brush (for spreading Glue/Modge Podge)
6) Glass Mason jar (or any style glass jar for example an empty pickle jar with the label removed)
7) tea light (optional)
Whatever you have on hand should work!
