Art Therapy Session: Interactive Study on Kandinsky
The American Art Therapy Association defines Art therapy as an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.
We will be creating a Kandinsky style artwork while using both the sense of sight and sound! We will take notice of all the sensations that surface in us as we listen to the music while drawing the lines and shapes. We will be aware if when we hear the trumpet playing what color our mind might imagine it to be? Is it Blue, Yellow or Red? Does the sound of the piano keys playing in the background make us draw circles or triangles? This may sound complicated but I will guide you through the entire process. We will then discuss our individual experiences.
