Food for Thought: Homemade Healthy Chili
Our guest presenter for this event is Veronica Ramirez, owner of Vero Pure Green, Health Coaching Services. She will be providing nutrition tips and teaching us how to prepare a healthy and delicious recipe. If you'd like to follow along please make sure to have the below ingredients on hand:
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 medium sweet onion, diced
• 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 (28oz) cans of crushed tomatoes
• 2 (15 oz) cans of black beans, drained and rinsed
• 1 cup water
• 3 tablespoons of chili powder
• 2 tablespoons ground cumin
• 1 tablespoon of pure maple syrup
• 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
• 1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1 teaspoon salt (pink Himalayan salt is a healthier option)
