Each year The Arc of New Jersey and New Jersey Statewide Self-Advocacy Network hold a celebratory event to highlight the Governor's Proclamation and the Joint Legislative Resolution for Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

Thank you NJDHS Deputy Commissioner McGuire, Assistant Commissioner Seifried, & Mayor Crate for recognizing DD Awareness Month at The Arc of Ocean! The Arc of Ocean advocates did their part as well, with Jennifer Muldoon giving an amazing speech to mark the occasion.

Additionally, Evelyn, Daniel, and John from The Arc of Somerset met with Senator Andrew Zwicker for DD Awareness Month to talk about important topics such as marriage equality, the importance of Medicaid, and employment opportunities.

Thank you to William Aronow for testifying to the Assembly Budget Committee. William stayed at the Statehouse to give interviews to NJ Spotlight News (3:26 in the clip below) and the NJ Statehouse News. William did an amazing job! We thank you for your support, advocacy, and hard work!

More advocates will continue the work next month by testifying to the Senate Budget Committee in April.
