Leigh Anne McKingsley is Senior Director of Disability and Justice Initiatives for The Arc and oversees The Arc's National Center on Criminal Justice and Disability (NCCJD), a clearinghouse for research, information, evaluation, training and technical assistance for criminal justice and disability professionals. She has consulted with a number of federal and national agencies including the Council of State Governments Justice Center, International Assoc of Chiefs of Police, U.S. Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC) and Vera Institute of Justice. She is passionate about teaching others with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities the value of self-advocacy, speaking out against victimization and abuse and protecting the rights of people with intellectual disabilities in the criminal justice system, whether they are victims, defendants or offenders.
