Join Disability Rights New Jersey Managing Attorney Michael Brower for an introduction to supported decision making in New Jersey. Learn about how supported decision making can work as an alternative to guardianship and how it works for people with guardians. We will also discuss the basics of guardianship law from a disability rights perspective.
Michael Brower supervises the Community Inclusion team at Disability Rights New Jersey, a private non-profit designated as New Jersey’s Protection and Advocacy system for people with disabilities. A 2012 graduate of Rutgers Law School in Camden, Michael started his career at a respected consumer bankruptcy firm, and developed a connection to disability rights issues through volunteer work at events for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He joined Disability Rights New Jersey in 2016, where his team works on lowering legal barriers that prevent people with all kinds of disabilities from participating as full members of their communities.
